The Keepers of
a Thousand Stories

One evening at our hotel restaurant, a couple ordered what they thought was a simple meal, but due to a mix-up, they received a lavish dinner with an expensive bottle of wine. They enjoyed it all, unaware of the mistake, until the bill arrived and by far exceeded their budget. Clearly worried, they called over the staff. Our F&B manager, Marco, quickly assessed the situation, apologized for the error, and reassured them that the hotel would cover the difference. The couple, relieved and appreciative, offered to pay for the original meal and left with smiles, vowing to return—this time with a more adventurous appetite!

One afternoon, a guest slipped on a wet floor near the pool area, and for a moment, it looked like a disaster waiting to happen. Thankfully, one of our quick-thinking housekeepers, Maria, saw it unfold and rushed over to catch her just in time, preventing what could have been a serious fall. We immediately called our on-site medic, who checked the guest and confirmed she was completely fine, just a bit shaken. To ensure her comfort, we upgraded her to a spa suite and offered complimentary treatments for the rest of her stay. She left the hotel praising Maria as her "guardian angel" and promised to return next year!

One evening, a guest at our five-star hotel stormed down to the front desk, furious because his room had a view of the parking lot instead of the ocean. He claimed it ruined his vacation and demanded to speak with me immediately. After listening to his complaints, I apologized, upgraded him to our best suite with a stunning ocean view, and sent up a bottle of champagne with a handwritten note. The next morning, he came down with a grin, thanking me for turning things around. Now, he books that same suite every year and even jokes that the parking lot view was a blessing in disguise!
